Can I connect a sensor or LoRa gateway to a location myself?

You can connect a sensor to a location yourself if you have sufficient permissions, typically an Engineer or Manager role. To do this, add the device by pasting, typing, or scanning its 16-character DevEUI under IoT Devices, then claim the device if provisioned by a vendor or register it with integration details if not. Afterward, link the device to an Asset, Room, or System at the correct Location so its readings feed scheduled jobs and compliance checks.

Linking a device attaches it to what it measures and maps its sensors to compliance parameters, which is essential for the data to populate jobs. Note that linking requires appropriate edit access to the asset, and a sensor not linked will not contribute readings beyond the device list view. LoRa gateways themselves are not described as directly connectable by customers, so if your device type or vendor is missing from the platform’s catalogue, you will need to contact BriqSafe support.

Instructions for adding, claiming, and linking devices are available in the knowledge base under IoT device setup and management. You cannot link devices provisioned to other organisations or registered elsewhere without support help. For bulk provisioning or printing QR labels for sensors, Manager role access is needed, and certain device types or integrations can only be managed by your organisation’s administrators or support team.
