This article explains how to add multiple assets at once in the BriqSafe app, helping Engineers efficiently register equipment found on-site or during location setup.
NoteRequired role: Engineer
Adding Multiple Assets Using the Floor Plan Asset Library
Use the floor plan to place several assets quickly and precisely within a structure.
- Open the location and select a structure.
- Open a floor within the structure to load its floor plan.
- Switch the floor plan to Assets mode.
- Open the Asset Library.
- Browse categories, recently used asset types, or use the search to find each desired asset type.
- Tap positions on the floor plan to place assets one by one, or drag an asset type from the library onto the floor plan.
- Enter the asset’s Name and any required attributes in the quick-edit panel, then confirm.
- The Asset Library remains open so you can continue placing more assets without reopening it.
Duplicating Existing Assets to Create Multiple Copies
If several identical assets are already on the floor plan, use duplication to speed up asset creation.
- Select one or more existing assets on the floor plan.
- Choose Duplicate from the asset’s action menu.
- Each selected asset is copied once and pasted beside the original with a (copy) suffix added to the name.
Note that there is no dialog to set quantity, direction, spacing, or angle. Duplicated copies inherit the original’s type, compliance parameters, and linked systems, but their QR codes are cleared.
When duplicating multiple assets at once, some copies may fail; a message will report how many were not created.
Adding New Assets Directly via Location or Floor Plan Editor

Register new equipment that is not yet recorded by adding assets from the location’s structure tree or on the floor plan.
- From the Structures tree, select the row actions for a structure, floor, or area, then choose Add asset, or use the floor plan editor controls to add an asset.
- Select the corresponding Asset Type.
- Fill out the dynamic compliance parameters for that asset type, along with basic fields like Name, Serial Number, Manufacturer, Model, Code, and Description.
- Save the asset.
On saving, the system evaluates compliance and risk rules, generates the asset’s control schema activities, and creates technical recommendations where applicable.
Approval Workflow for Newly Added Assets
Assets created by Engineers appear in a pending-approval state and must be reviewed by someone with an approval role before becoming active in the compliance plan.
- When an Engineer adds an asset, it is saved directly with a pending approval status.
- No separate submit step is needed; the asset automatically appears in the review queue of a user with approval privileges, such as an Inspector.
- Assets added by users with approval roles (Owner, Admin, Manager, Inspector) are approved immediately on creation.
An asset with a pending status shows a banner indicating it is awaiting approval.
Approving or Rejecting Multiple Pending Assets
If you have approval permissions, you can manage multiple pending assets simultaneously.
- In the web app, open the pending-approval queue.
- Select one or more pending assets for review.
- Examine each asset’s attributes, type, location, and creator information.
- Choose Approve to move the assets to approved status. Optionally enter a note with approval.
- Or choose Reject and provide required feedback to return the assets to the creators for correction.
Note that approving requires edit permission plus membership in an approval role. Engineers cannot approve or reject assets.
Rejected assets return to the pending-approval queue if the creator edits them after rejection.
Tips on Managing Multiple Assets
- Use the Asset Library floor plan placement for quick manual addition of multiple different assets.
- Use the Duplicate feature to quickly copy numerous identical assets on the floor plan.
- Remember, assets are only created under existing areas; you cannot create assets directly at the structure or location level.
