Required role: Engineer

Add an Asset to a Floor Plan

Place equipment on a floor plan to match its real-world position, making it visually easy to locate.

  1. Open the location's Structures tab and select the floor to open its floor plan editor.
  2. Switch the plan to Assets mode using the mode toggle, then click Add asset at the right end of the toolbar to open the Add asset panel.
  3. Use the search button, category tabs, or the Most recent strip to find the asset type you want; the Most recent strip is visible above All types until hidden by a search or category selection.
  4. Select the room you want to place the asset in.
  5. Either drag the asset type directly onto the exact spot in the selected room or click the asset type to drop it automatically in the selected room.
  6. After placement, a confirmation message Asset placed appears, and the panel remains open so you can place multiple assets consecutively.
  7. Repeat placing assets as needed.
  8. When finished, click Save on the Unsaved changes bar at the bottom of the canvas to apply all asset placements. Until saved, assets show as draft markers.
  9. Note: Clicking to place an asset with no room selected triggers a warning saying Please select a room first. Dropping without dragging places the asset mid-room, offset automatically to avoid overlap with existing markers.

How Assets Scale with Rooms

When an asset is placed on a floor plan, its scale adjusts relative to the size of its room. This ensures the asset's visual representation remains proportionate, so it accurately reflects its real-world size within the boundaries of the room on the plan.

Hover Tooltip Information for Assets

Hovering over an asset marker on the floor plan displays a tooltip that provides key information about the asset. This lets users quickly identify details such as the asset's type and placement without opening the asset's full details panel.
