Connect a Bluetooth thermometer

Use this article to connect a Bluetooth thermometer and record temperature readings during a job.

Before You Get Started

• Open a job whose activity includes temperature measurement parameters.

Connect the thermometer and measure temperature

1. Open the temperature job. The job opens on the Actions tab.
2. Tap Connect to pair the Bluetooth thermometer.
3. Tap Start Temperature Measurement.
4. Wait while the live reading streams. The measurement stops when the activity's stop conditions are met.
5. Tap Done to return to the job.
6. Repeat the measurement for each outstanding parameter.
7. If requested, add an evidence photo.
8. Tap Complete Job.

If the parameter allows manual entry, you can tap Enter manually instead of connecting a thermometer and type the reading.

Measurement settings

When an activity has no stop conditions, Default measurement settings apply. The reading stops when it has held steady for ten seconds or when the two-minute timeout is reached, whichever comes first.

If the thermometer disconnects

A disconnection during a measurement discards all readings for that parameter. Reconnect the thermometer and measure the parameter again.

Complete a measurement offline

Thermometer pairing and temperature measurements continue to work without a connection. Readings and job status changes are saved on the device and show a notice that they will sync when you reconnect.

When the connection returns, the app uploads the queued readings in the background. A measurement completed offline does not receive a rule result until it syncs.

Understand the completion result

The form does not show a pass or fail chip, and a reading that breaches a threshold does not prevent the job from being completed. Each submitted measurement is checked against the compliance risk rules.

• When online, a breach may show Job completed. A case was created for review.
• If a case for the same issue is already open, it may show Job completed. A case is already open for this issue.
• When the job is completed offline, the app shows Job completed. Will sync when connected. No case message appears until the queued reading is evaluated after it syncs.
