Connect a probe

Use this guide to connect a Bluetooth thermometer to the BriqSafe app on your phone or tablet and record temperature measurements during a job.

Before You Get Started

• Open a job whose activity includes temperature measurement parameters.

Connect the probe and take a measurement

1. Open the temperature job. The job opens on the Actions tab.
2. On the Actions tab, tap Connect to pair the Bluetooth thermometer.
3. When the thermometer is connected, tap Start Temperature Measurement.
4. Wait while the live reading streams. The measurement stops when the activity's stop conditions are met.
5. Tap Done to return to the job.
6. Repeat the measurement for each outstanding parameter.
7. Add an evidence photo if the job asks for one.
8. Tap Complete Job.

Enter a reading manually

If the parameter allows manual entry, the Enter manually option is shown instead of connecting a thermometer. Tap Enter manually and type the reading.

Understand measurement results

The form does not show a pass or fail result. A reading outside its threshold does not prevent you from completing the job. When the job is submitted online, BriqSafe checks the measurement against the compliance risk rules.

• If a new case is created, the app confirms: Job completed. A case was created for review.
• If a case is already open for the same issue, the app confirms: Job completed. A case is already open for this issue.
• If the job is completed offline, the app shows Job completed. Will sync when connected. The rule result and any case message appear only after the queued reading is synced and evaluated on the server.

Troubleshoot a measurement

The thermometer disconnects during a measurement

If the thermometer disconnects while measuring, all readings for that parameter are discarded. Reconnect the thermometer and measure the parameter again.

The measurement does not have stop conditions

With no stop conditions, the reading uses Default measurement settings. It stops when the reading holds steady for ten seconds or after two minutes, whichever comes first.
