Measure temperatures

Use this procedure to record temperature readings during a visit with a Bluetooth thermometer or by entering readings manually.

Before You Get Started

• Make sure the job has temperature measurement parameters, such as a water outlet temperature check.

Measure a temperature

1. Open the temperature job.
2. On the Actions tab, tap Connect to pair a Bluetooth thermometer. If the parameter allows manual entry, tap Enter manually and type the reading instead.
3. When the thermometer is connected, tap Start Temperature Measurement.
4. Wait while the live reading is recorded. The measurement stops when the activity's stop conditions are met.
5. Tap Done to return to the job.
6. Repeat the measurement for each outstanding parameter.
7. Add an evidence photo if the job asks for one.
8. Tap Complete Job.

Understand measurement results

The form does not show a pass or fail result. Each reading is checked against the compliance risk rules when it is submitted.

• A reading outside its threshold does not prevent the job from being completed.
• When the app is online, you may see Job completed. A case was created for review. if the breach requires escalation.
• If a case for the same rule is already open, the app shows Job completed. A case is already open for this issue.
• When the job is completed offline, the app shows Job completed. Will sync when connected. The reading is checked and any case is raised only after it syncs.

Resolve measurement problems

The thermometer disconnects

If the thermometer disconnects during a measurement, all readings for that parameter are discarded. Reconnect the thermometer and measure that parameter again.

The measurement does not have stop conditions

With no stop conditions, Default measurement settings apply. The reading stops when it has held steady for ten seconds or when the two-minute timeout is reached, whichever comes first.

You lose connection during the visit

Temperature measurement and thermometer pairing continue to work offline. Readings and job status changes are saved on the device and sync when the connection returns.
