This article explains how to recalibrate your temperature measurement probe by performing a temperature measurement job using the BriqSafe app. It is intended for engineers carrying out on-site temperature measurement tasks with Bluetooth thermometers or manual entry.
NoteRequired role: Engineer
Perform a Temperature Measurement Job

Use this process to recalibrate your probe by taking fresh temperature readings during a flushing job.
- Open the relevant temperature job within your visit.
- Tap Connect Thermometer to pair your Bluetooth thermometer. Alternatively, tap Fill Temperature Manually if you prefer to type in the readings.
- If using the thermometer, tap Start Measurement and run the water outlet. The live reading will stream and automatically stop when the temperature stabilizes.
- Repeat the measurement for each required reading at the outlet as specified.
- If the activity requires it, attach an evidence photo by adding a photo from your device.
- Tap Complete Job once all readings and evidence have been captured.
Handling Measurement Settings and Connectivity
Understand how the app handles measurement timing and offline conditions during probe recalibration.
- If the activity type has no stop conditions defined, the app shows Default measurement settings and applies a 2-minute timeout or allows manual reading.
- If your thermometer goes out of range during the measurement, readings already taken are kept. You can reconnect the thermometer or switch to manual temperature entry to continue.
- If you lose connectivity on-site, open the visit while online to cache job data beforehand.
- While offline, a blue offline indicator appears, and you can continue working. Readings, photos, timer progress, and status changes queue locally.
- When connectivity returns, the app syncs all queued updates automatically in the background.
- Remember to allow time for syncing after reconnecting before leaving the site.
Understanding Job Completion and Threshold Breaches
Learn what happens after you finish a measurement job with your recalibrated probe readings.
- Complete the job as usual, even if readings breach the configured temperature thresholds.
- The server evaluates any threshold breaches after the job is completed.
- If the breach requires escalation, the app will confirm with the message: Job completed. A case was created for review.
- Note that no pass or fail status appears on the form during the visit—you must review breach outcomes after completion.
- If the job was completed offline, confirmation messages and any case creation appear only after your changes sync upon reconnecting.
