Use this guide when maintaining a sensor fleet. It explains how to edit a device, unlink it from an Asset, Area or System, move it to another Location, replace it, or remove it from a site.
Access to device actions
Your access determines which actions are available:

An Engineer sees Edit and Unlink, but not Move, Replace or Remove from site. On a narrow screen, Edit, Move, Replace and Remove from site are behind More actions.
Edit a device
Change the device name or type without changing where the device is installed.
- Open the device.
- Select Edit. The device name becomes editable and the Type field is shown.
- Enter a name from 3 to 100 characters and, if needed, change the Type.
- Select Save.
Unlink a device
Use Unlink in the Linked To card to detach the device from its Asset, Area or System.
- Open the device.
- In the Linked To card, select Unlink.
CautionUnlinking discards the sensor mappings. If you link the device again, BriqSafe runs automatic matching again; it does not restore the previous mappings.
Move a device
Use Move to relocate the device to another Location.
- Open the device.
- Select Move. On a narrow screen, open More actions first.
- Relocate the device to the required Location.
Replace a device
Use Replace to swap the current device for another unit.
- Open the device.
- Select Replace. On a narrow screen, open More actions first.
- Replace the device with the other unit.
Remove a device from a site
Use Remove from site to unassign a device from its current Location. This action is reversible and does not delete the device.
- Open the device.
- Select Remove from site. On a narrow screen, open More actions first.
- For your own device, the device remains in your list with no Location.
- For a vendor-delivered device, it leaves your list and returns to that vendor's pool. It can be claimed onto the same Location again.
