Scan an asset QR code to find jobs

Use the QR code scanner on your mobile home screen to open an asset and view its jobs without searching for the asset manually.

Note

Required role: Viewer

Before You Get Started

  • The QR code must be assigned to a live asset at a location you can access.
  • QR codes are unique only among live assets at the same location.

Scan an asset QR code

  1. Open the app or tap My BriqSafe.
  2. Under My Quick Actions, tap Scan QR.
  3. Point the camera at the QR code on the asset label.
  4. When the code is read, tap the card showing the scanned value at the top of the camera view. The code is not searched until you tap this card.

When a match is found, the asset opens on its Information tab. This tab can show the asset's photos, Name, Asset Number, Asset QR Code, and linked systems. The Jobs (count) and Recommendations options are also available.

Open jobs for the asset

  1. Tap Jobs (count).
  2. Tap a job to open the same job screen that opens from the visit list.

Jobs are grouped into Open, Upcoming, and Historic. Open jobs are expanded and include jobs due today or earlier. Tap the Upcoming or Historic header to expand those sections.

If the asset is not found

If the scan does not match an accessible live asset, the app shows No assets found for this QR code. The lookup only includes locations you can access and skips deleted assets, so a retired asset and an unused code produce the same message.

If two live assets at one location share a QR code, the scan always opens the first-created asset. The newer asset cannot be opened by scanning that code.

Viewing jobs without a connection

The asset's Jobs tab does not have its own offline copy. Without a connection, it shows only jobs previously loaded for that asset while the device was online. If you have not opened the asset's jobs online, it can show Jobs (0) and No jobs yet even when jobs exist.
