This article explains how to control visibility settings in a Location Risk Assessment (LRA) template by showing or hiding sections within the template. It is intended for inspectors and users working on risk assessments who need to customize the display of sections in their templates.

Managing Section Visibility in an LRA Template
Control over which sections appear in an LRA template allows you to tailor the risk assessment to exactly the parts of a location you want to include or exclude, improving focus and clarity during an assessment.
Showing or Hiding Sections in the Template
- Open the risk assessment and navigate to its overview page.
- Locate the Select scope card where the Scope for analysis field shows how many items are currently selected.
- Click the Scope for analysis field to open the Change scope picker.
- Expand the hierarchical tree structure to find Structures, Areas, Systems, and Assets that can be included or excluded.
- Tick or untick parent nodes to cascade the selection to their children, effectively showing or hiding those subsections within the LRA template.
- Review the total number of selected items as shown in the picker header.
- When your selection is complete and all data has loaded fully, click the Confirm button to save your visibility settings and update the template scope.
Important Considerations for Visibility Control
- Adjusting the scope after data collection does not delete collected data; removed items are simply marked out of scope and do not contribute to completeness calculations.
- A selection including more than 500 assets is not allowed; you will receive a message prompting you to narrow your selection.
- The Confirm button remains disabled while scope data is still loading to prevent saving incomplete selections.
- The risk assessment must remain within a single control regime, so items governed by different control regimes will be greyed out and cannot be added to the scope.
Scope and Its Impact on Template Sections
The scope you select defines which template sections are visible during the assessment phases, including the data collection stages for Systems, Areas, and Assets. Only scoped items appear in the LRA template, so controlling the scope effectively shows or hides entire groups of assessment sections.
For example, if you exclude certain Structures or Areas by unchecking them, the corresponding Systems, Areas, and Assets beneath them will not appear in the assessment. This streamlines the template to just the relevant parts of the location.
Changing Visibility After Data Collection
- You may narrow or expand the scope at any time from the assessment overview. However, narrowing the scope after you have collected data will not erase that data; the hidden items stop contributing to completeness calculations.
- If you expand the scope, new sections become visible and available for data collection.
Always use the Confirm button after adjusting scope to save your changes.
