Change the order of tasks

This article explains how to change the order of tasks for each location in BriqSafe, such as setting the task sequence to start at the top floor. It is intended for users managing task schedules by location.

Required role: Inspector

Reordering Floors within a Location

Structures screen in the Residencial Serrano location allows managing building structures, with key actions including adding a new structure and editing or viewing details of existing ones via a dropdown menu.

To change the order of tasks by adjusting the floor sequence (for example, starting inspections from the top floor), first reorder the floors of the structure to reflect the desired top-to-bottom order.

  1. Open the location and navigate to its Structures tab.
  2. Open the structure you want to reorder floors for, then go to the Floors list.
  3. Click Reorder to enter reorder mode.
  4. Drag the floors into the desired order, placing the top floor first if you want to start with it.
  5. When you drop a floor in its new position, the system will reassign each floor’s level number according to the new order and save automatically.
  6. Choose Done to exit reorder mode.

Important: Reordering rewrites all floor level values based on the new sequence. Any manual changes to floor levels will be overwritten by this full re-levelling operation.

Also, you must have the structure-edit permission to reorder floors. If the system fails to save the new order, it restores the previous sequence automatically.

Scheduling Visits to Follow the Floor Order

Scheduled Visits calendar screen displaying a list of assigned visits by location and date, with an open Visit Details panel allowing users to review and edit visit status, date, assignees, and job progress before saving.

Once floors are ordered correctly, scheduling tasks can be managed so visits start from the top floor and proceed downward by following the floor order established.

When you schedule visits from templates or activities for a location, they will reflect the structure and floor order configuration that you have set.

To schedule visits:

  1. Open the Scheduler from the sidebar.
  2. Use the To plan list to locate visit-template occurrences for the location.
  3. Open a visit-template occurrence to review its activity types and job counts.
  4. Set the date and start/end times, assign engineer(s), then confirm the visit.

Scheduling visits this way groups activities and respects the floors’ order, so when engineers start a visit on the top floor, tasks will align with that sequence.

Note: Changes to activity types in a visit-template occurrence apply only to that visit and do not change the template itself for future occurrences.
