Use this article to check why a rotation cycle proposed specific sampling points and whether the proposal reflects the rule's network-position requirements.
View the proposed sampling points
- Open Locations, select the Location, and open the Rotation plan tab.
- Review each rotation-enabled compliance rule. The tab lists the points proposed for the next cycle and explains why each point was selected.
One selection reason can be a network position's mix requirement. Rotation is configured on the compliance rule, not on the Rotation plan tab.
Understand how position minimums change the sample count
A minimum for a network position is added to the cycle's normal sample count. For example:
- The rule requests four samples.
- The rule also requires one point near the source and one point far from the source.
- The plan therefore contains six points: four general samples plus one near-source point and one far-from-source point.
Assets at a position with a minimum do not remain in the general rotation. They take turns only with the other assets at that same position, with the least recently sampled asset selected first.
The minimums are set on the compliance rule, not on the Rotation plan tab. If the sample size or rotation settings are wrong, the compliance rule must be reviewed.
Review an unmet position minimum
If the Location has fewer assets at a position than the rule's minimum requires, each cycle warns that the mix could not be met. The warning states how many points are still needed.
Completing fieldwork does not clear this warning. It remains until either the minimum is reduced or more points exist at that network position.
Check for an incompatible coverage-period rule
A rule that sizes its sampling by coverage period cannot also carry network-position minimums. BriqSafe rejects that combination rather than creating a rotation plan with both settings.
