Archive a structure

This article explains what to do when you want to remove a structure from the active structures list without permanently removing its records.

Archive a structure

BriqSafe documents a Delete action for structures rather than a separate Archive action. Structure deletion is a soft delete, so the records are retained.

1. Open Structures.
2. Open the structure's actions menu.
3. Select Delete.
4. Review the Delete Structure dialog.
5. Select Delete to confirm and return to the structures list.

Important effects of deleting a structure

Deleting a structure also affects the items connected to it:

• The areas and assets inside the structure are deleted.
• The structure's systems are removed from linking pickers.
• Assets linked to those systems lose the link.
• Jobs booked against the linked assets are cancelled.
• Scheduled visits and jobs are cancelled.
• An open risk assessment loses the structure from its scope. If it was the whole scope, the assessment closes; if it was only part of the scope, signed-off stages reopen.

The wording in the Delete Structure dialog varies. When the structure has floors, the dialog names the floors and the assets inside them. It warns about a running risk assessment only when one is open.

Archive a location instead

If you need to remove an entire location from active use, use the location's Overview tab and select Archive. Archive and Delete are available alongside the location's editable details.
