Add or remove temporary outlets

Use this article to add an outlet as an asset in the BriqSafe mobile app and remove it when it is no longer needed. On-site additions are saved against the location and are permanent building-configuration changes, not temporary drafts for a visit.

Before You Get Started

• The location, structure, floor and room must already exist so you can place the asset in the building hierarchy.
• Choose the correct asset type. The asset type determines the control-schema activities generated for the asset.

Add an outlet

Add the outlet from the room where it is located.

1. In the mobile app, open Locations.
2. Open the location.
3. Open the header ⋯ menu and select Tree view.
4. Expand the structure and floor.
5. Open the room's ⋮ menu and select Add asset.
6. Tap the outlet's asset type in Choose asset type.

The asset is created as soon as you select the type. It is named after the asset type, and there is no details form or separate save step. Add further information later with Edit.

Note

An asset added by an Owner, Admin, Manager or Inspector is approved when it is created. An asset added by an Engineer waits for an Inspector or higher to review it.

Remove an outlet

Remove an approved asset on the web

1. Open the asset from the location's Assets view.
2. At the bottom of the asset's Information tab, select Delete.
3. In the Delete asset confirmation, select Delete.

Deleting the asset also removes its system links, asset-to-asset links and sensor links. Any unfinished job on the asset is cancelled. Completed jobs, recommendations and cases are kept. Deletion cannot be undone.

Note

Deleting an asset requires delete permission. Engineers do not have this permission and see a request-deletion action in the mobile app instead.

Request removal in the mobile app

1. Open the asset in the mobile app.
2. Select the request-deletion action.

The asset is marked for deletion and waits for a reviewer. An Inspector or higher can open the pending asset from the Assets list and select Approve or Reject. Approving the deletion removes the asset. Rejecting it cancels the deletion request.

Pending additions

When an Engineer adds an outlet, the asset shows a banner stating that it is pending approval. While it is pending, nobody can edit its details or change its type. The Engineer who added it can still remove the pending asset from its screen; it is removed immediately rather than sent for review.

A reviewer can open the pending asset from the Assets list. A newly added asset is removed if the reviewer selects Reject. Changes to a pending addition can be saved only after the asset has been approved.
