Risk conclusion

This article explains how to review the risk picture, record the executive summary, and download the report from the Risk Conclusion stage.

Before You Get Started

The Risk Conclusion stage becomes available only after these seven stages are marked done:

  • Location
  • Areas
  • Systems
  • Assets
  • Logbook & Activities
  • Control Schema
  • Technical Recommendations

Review the risk summary

  1. Open the risk assessment.
  2. Open the Risk Conclusion stage.
  3. Read the gauge in the right-hand card under Risk. The gauge ranges from Very low to Very high, or shows Unassessed when there is not enough data.
  4. Expand each risk group in the left-hand list to view its Score, from 1 to 5, and the questions used for that group.
  5. Compare the result with your professional expectation before finishing the assessment.

Unassessed does not mean that the risk is zero. It means that the objects beneath the gauge have not been assessed yet. Depending on the assessment configuration, the page can show one overall gauge, a gauge for each system, or no gauge and no risk groups.

A factor that was not measured still affects the score. It is included in one of the available options, usually a medium- or high-risk option. An asset's risk also contributes to every system linked to that asset.

The stage remains locked until all other stages are marked done. Viewers can read the scores but cannot change them. No one can change them after the assessment is finished.

Write the executive summary

  1. Open the risk assessment.
  2. Open the Risk Conclusion stage.
  3. In the Conclusion section, find Executive Summary, or the conclusion field named by your assessment configuration.
  4. Enter your narrative, or select Generate to create a draft from the assessment data.
  5. Review and correct the text.
  6. Select Save.

Select Cancel to restore the last saved text. A generated summary is a draft, so review and correct it before reporting. If the assessment data changes later, the summary is marked Obsolete. Regenerate or rewrite it before reporting.

Additional conclusion fields may appear under Conclusion. A per-risk-group Score is entered in the risk-factor sections, not in the executive summary field. The summary becomes read-only after the assessment is finished and is also read-only for users without assessment-edit access.

If generation fails, the page displays Failed to generate summary or another platform-provided reason. The text you previously saved remains available.

Download the risk assessment report

Generating or emailing a report requires the Engineer role or higher. Users with Viewer access or higher can download a report after it has been generated.

  1. Open the risk assessment.
  2. Open the Risk Conclusion stage.
  3. In the Generate Report section, confirm that the status is Ready.
  4. Select Download.

The section shows the report file name, generation time, and file size. If no report exists or the last generation failed, a user with the Engineer role or higher must generate it first. After the assessment is finished, the generate form and Regenerate action are no longer available, so regenerate the report before finishing if the assessment has changed.
