No tasks appear

Use this article when no tasks or jobs appear in the BriqSafe app. It explains how to check the planner, Control Schema, scheduled visits, permissions, and mobile data.

Check the planner

Note

Required role for the planner: Manager, Admin, or Owner.

The planner calculates recurring work for the date range currently displayed. It does not use a stored queue.

  1. Open Scheduler.
  2. Turn on To plan to display the dates and activities the planner recommends.
  3. Check the selected view and location. Only Week view keeps a selection of several locations. Day, Month, and Agenda show only the first selected location.

A visit that is already booked, in progress, or completed can cover an activity for the same frequency period. This can remove the activity from To plan, even when the visit is after the end of the displayed range. In week view, a later visit in the same monthly period can also hide a monthly activity.

To plan is refreshed after changes to the Control Schema, visit template, or visits.

Check the location's Control Schema

Use the Control Schema to confirm that the activity exists and is generating jobs.

  1. Open the location and select Control Schema.
  2. Find the activity type and open it.
  3. Check its status. Activities can show To do, In progress, Done, Overdue, Skipped, or Closed.
  4. Check that Activity enabled is on. A disabled activity remains in the list but is greyed out, has no status badge, and generates no jobs.

If the activity is not listed, the location may not have a matching configuration or control regime. A location, area, asset, or system with no resolved control regime generates no compliance activities. A structure with no matching rule uses the organisation's default control regime; if no active default exists, the Control Schema can show No activity types found.

Check whether generation is still pending

Activities are generated when structures, areas, assets, or control regimes are created or changed. There is no manual generate button. Generation is queued and runs in batches.

  1. Reload the location's Control Schema after a configuration change.
  2. Check whether the activity now appears.

If it still does not appear, check the configuration behind the activity, including the location structure, areas, assets, and resolved control regime.

Check the activity frequency and scope

An activity may exist but not produce a job in the period you are viewing.

  • A frequency that occurs rarely can show no jobs in the next 12 months. The yearly estimate is rounded to whole jobs, so a fraction of a job can display as zero.
  • An activity with no matching structure, area, system, or asset generates nothing.
  • A newly added custom activity starts at To do, but its first job is created at the next visit that includes it.
  • For rotation activities, the next visit may target points sampled longest ago, or skip points sampled in recent cycles, depending on the rotation pattern.

Check cancelled or skipped visits

How a visit was handled affects whether its work appears again.

  • Canceling a visit leaves its activities due. They return under To plan after the planner refreshes.
  • Skipping a visit does not make the same work appear again immediately. The skipped visit keeps its date, or its full week block for activities planned in week blocks, so the work must be planned manually.
  • Later due dates continue to return automatically.

To schedule the work manually

  1. Open Scheduler and select Plan visit.
  2. Drag a template from the Planning sidebar onto a day.
  3. In New Visit, set the location, date, times, and Assignees.
  4. Check the job counts under Jobs by Activity, then select Schedule.

Check access and assigned work

Users do not always see every location or every job.

  • Engineers, Inspectors, and Viewers see only visits and jobs assigned to them on the location's Visits and Jobs tabs.
  • A Manager, Admin, or Owner can see work beyond their own assignments where their permissions allow it.
  • For an external user, an empty Location Permissions list means they have access to no locations. For an internal user, an empty list means they have access to all locations.
  • Users below Manager are redirected from Scheduler to Visits.

If the home screen shows Failed to load permissions, select Retry. The home content is not available until permissions load.

Check mobile data and offline access

Mobile lists can be incomplete when the app is offline or using cached data.

  1. Reconnect to the internet.
  2. Tap the sync indicator in the header to open Your changes.
  3. Allow pending changes to upload.
  4. Select Get latest data if it is available.

The mobile cache normally covers your own visits dated yesterday, today, or tomorrow. On a phone, a day appears offline in Visits only if you opened that day while connected. A future visit is cached only after you display its day in the Visits list while connected. Work from a colleague's visit is not cached unless a Manager filtered the Visits list to that colleague while connected.

If the sync sheet says Data may be outdated or Data is outdated · Connect to get latest data, reconnect and refresh before relying on the job list or thresholds.

Check the visit and job status

A job may not appear as available because it has already been settled or its completion window has ended.

  • Not performed is set by the system when the completion window ends with the work undone.
  • Building closed is set when the completion window falls entirely on days the location was shut.
  • Jobs left open at sign-off are automatically skipped.
  • A skipped job cannot be changed back to Done. Schedule a new job instead.

When the issue remains after these checks, review the location's configuration, resolved control regime, activity status, and user permissions with an administrator.
