Get started with the mobile app

This article explains how to navigate the BriqSafe mobile app, find your scheduled visits for today, and move between locations, assets, and job views. It is intended for all mobile app users who want to get started effectively with the app's features.

Using the My BriqSafe Home Screen

The My BriqSafe screen is your starting point each time you open the app or tap the Home tab.

1. Open the app or tap the Home tab to land on the My BriqSafe screen.
2. Scroll through the fixed sections in this order: jobs progress, My Quick Actions, next visits, Jump back in, My Locations, and Latest Reports.
3. Pull down anywhere on the screen to refresh all sections.

Note that the section order cannot be changed, and sections only appear when they have content or an applicable empty state. For example, My Locations is hidden if you have no sites in your scope. On tablets, Jump back in and Latest Reports display side by side.

Finding and Opening Today's Visits

Check your scheduled visits for today and access planned jobs before going on site.

1. Tap the Visits tab to open the My Visits screen.
2. Use the day selector to choose Today or Tomorrow.
3. Find your visits grouped by day.
4. Tap a visit to open its list of jobs, organized by floor and area in walking order.
5. Tap any job to open its execution form.

Make sure to open the visit while you have a connection. Doing so caches job details, asset information, control-scheme thresholds, and floor plans on your device, enabling offline work. Opening the visit only after losing signal may result in missing data.

Jumping to Nearby Sites from the Home Screen

If you want to go quickly to your next site, the home screen helps you jump straight there.

1. On the My BriqSafe home screen, find the Next Visits slider.
2. Swipe through upcoming visit cards showing the site name, and when location access is granted, the distance to the site.
3. Tap a card to open that site.

Note: Distance is visible only after you enable location access. For field users, the section is titled My Next Visits; for managers and above, it reads Next Visits.

Navigating Locations, Structures, and Assets

Browse and manage buildings, floors, rooms, and equipment from one place within a location.

1. From the Locations tab, open a location.

2. Go to the location's Structures tab.

3. Switch between three view modes:

   • Cards: Shows structure cards with compliance summaries and floor lists.
   • Hierarchy: Shows the nested structure and area tree.
   • Assets: Browse the location's equipment.

4. Tap a floor card to open the visual floor plan editor for that floor.

5. Use a structure card's actions menu to access sections like Floors, Systems, Control Schema, Timeline, and View Responsibilities.

Asset browsing is available only under the Assets view mode inside the Structures tab, not as a separate tab. Note that systems are managed within individual structures, not directly at the location level. There is no combined overview page; opening a structure always opens its Floors list.

Looking Up Assets Using QR Codes

Quickly identify assets onsite by scanning their QR codes and access their details without searching.

1. From the My Quick Actions section on the home screen, tap Scan QR to open the scanner.
2. If prompted, grant camera permission.
3. Point your device camera at the asset’s QR code.
4. The app opens the asset's detail screen showing name, type, location, compliance status, and linked systems.
5. Open the asset’s history for job and event records.
6. If you are inside an active visit, start a job for that asset directly from the scan result.

Scanning a soft-deleted asset's code returns "Not found" with no archived banner. A QR code reassigned to a new asset will link only to the current asset, not the previous one.

Reviewing Your Sites in My Locations

The My Locations section on the home screen shows your assigned sites and their statuses.

1. Scroll to My Locations on the home screen.
2. Review site cards, each with a status indicator.
3. Tap a site card to open that location.
4. Tap Show more to see additional sites beyond the initial list.

If you have no sites assigned, this section is hidden entirely. The list shows a capped number of sites and is not resorted by urgency.

Accessing Documents and Reports

You can view or download documents and reports on the go from within locations or structures.

1. Open a location or structure.
2. Tap Documents to open the document library within the app.
3. Browse, open, or download documents as needed.
4. On the home screen, scroll to Latest Reports to view or download recently generated reports.
5. Tap a report card to open its details.

The document library is a web-based view embedded in the app, so it requires an active connection to load. If a report has no file yet, tapping it will show "Report file is not available." Offline copies may appear when offline.

Refreshing and Managing Your Workspace

You can refresh the app content and manage app permissions for better functionality.

1. Pull down on My BriqSafe home screen to refresh all content sections.

2. Look for inline banners on the home screen to enable device permissions.

   • Tap Enable location access for nearby sites to allow location permissions.
   • Tap Enable notifications to stay updated to allow notifications.

These banners only show until you grant permissions and disappear afterwards. Dismissing a notifications prompt without granting does not hide the banner permanently.

Switching Between Locations, Structures, and Jobs

You can quickly reach jobs from locations, structures, or assets when you already know where you are in the building hierarchy.

1. Open the Locations tab and select a location.
2. Drill down into a structure within the location, then open its jobs list.
3. Or open an asset to see its jobs.
4. Tap a job to open its execution form, the same as from the visit list.

Note that on the consultant web app, an area's Jobs tab is only a placeholder and does not offer job execution; job work is done from the mobile app.
