The difference between PPCL and PSL

This article explains how PPCL and PSL reports differ in BriqSafe and how to choose the report that matches a location in Spain.

The risk assessment must have all earlier sections marked as done before the Risk Conclusion stage and its report form become available.

Understand the difference between PPCL and PSL

PPCL and PSL are the two Spanish Legionella plan report types available in BriqSafe:

• PPCL — Plan de Prevención y Control de Legionella
• PSL — Plan Sanitario de Legionella

The correct type is determined by the location's Spanish control regime. The report type is not selected based on individual structures, areas, systems or assets.

On an assessment's Risk Conclusion page, the report type is read-only. If the location uses the PPCL regime, BriqSafe displays the PPCL report type. If it uses the PSL regime, BriqSafe displays the PSL report type. You cannot switch between PPCL and PSL on this page.

Generate the report from the Risk Conclusion

1. Open the risk assessment and select Risk Conclusion.
2. Open the Generate Report section.
3. Check the read-only Report Type row. Confirm that it shows either PPCL — Plan de Prevención y Control de Legionella or PSL — Plan Sanitario de Legionella, according to the location's control regime.
4. Optionally select a Report Preset.
5. Optionally switch Libro de Registro and Incidencias on or off for this report.
6. Select Generate Report.

The report status changes from Processing to Ready. When it is ready, select Download to save the PDF.

Choose PPCL or PSL from Documents

When generating a report from Documents, the report type is a free choice and is not checked against the location's control regime. Select the type that matches the location's regime.

1. Open Documents and select Generate Report.
2. Choose either PPCL — Plan de Prevención y Control de Legionella or PSL — Plan Sanitario de Legionella.
3. Select the location.
4. Select the required Risk Assessment.
5. Optionally select a Report Preset and set the Libro de Registro and Incidencias switches.
6. Select Generate Report.

Check the assessment date when choosing the Risk Assessment. The list is ordered by creation date and can include unfinished assessments. Only the 50 most recent assessments are listed.

Important report limitations

• A PPCL or PSL report always covers the complete scope of the selected assessment. There is no structure, area or asset scope selector on the assessment report form.
• Set the required scope on the risk assessment itself before generating the report.
• After you finish the assessment, the report form and Regenerate option disappear from Risk Conclusion. Generate or regenerate the report before finishing if the data has changed.
• For a finished assessment, you can still generate a PPCL or PSL report from Documents by selecting the report type, location and assessment.
• The report is produced in English when the app is in English and in Spanish for every other app language.

How to decide

Use the location's control regime as the deciding factor:

• Use PPCL — Plan de Prevención y Control de Legionella when the location follows the PPCL control regime.
• Use PSL — Plan Sanitario de Legionella when the location follows the PSL control regime.

If you generate the report from Documents, make sure the selected type matches the location's regime because BriqSafe does not validate this choice there.
