Check why a task is marked as non-compliant

This article explains why an asset or assessment may appear red, how to find the rule that was triggered, and where to check the resulting assessment, case, or recommendation.

Check the asset parameters

A parameter that breaks a risk rule is highlighted while you enter it.

  1. Open Assets and select the asset.
  2. Open Parameters.
  3. Review fields with a yellow outline and an issue counter.
  4. Select the issue counter to open Compliance issue. Review each rule, its risk level, and its legal explanation.
  5. Select Save. If prompted, enter an optional Reason for change and select Save again.

The values are submitted first, and the compliance rules run again after saving. A field without an issue counter is not a pass mark; it only means that no risk rule fired for the value entered.

Check the assessment status

The asset's assessment can be automatically calculated or manually set.

  1. Open the asset from a risk assessment's Assets list or while reviewing a visit.
  2. Open the Assessment section.
  3. Review whether the asset is marked Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, or To Review.

An automatic Unsatisfactory result means that a risk rule reported a violation. An automatic Satisfactory result means only that no risk rule reported a violation; it does not confirm that every parameter was checked. An object that nobody has assessed shows To Review, regardless of its readings.

If you are an inspector and disagree with the automatic result, select Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory, then select Confirm assessment or Save. The result is then shown as manually set, while the calculated value is kept for the audit trail. To return to automatic evaluation, deselect the manual status and save.

Review the overall risk result

To see how the finding affects the assessment, open the final risk summary.

  1. Open the risk assessment.
  2. Open the Risk Conclusion stage.
  3. Read the gauge in the right-hand card under Risk.
  4. Expand each risk group in the left-hand list and review its Score and questions.

The gauge ranges from Very low to Very high. Unassessed means that the objects beneath it have not been assessed yet; it does not mean that the risk is zero. The Risk Conclusion stage remains locked until the other assessment stages are marked done.

Check for a case or technical recommendation

A rule violation can create follow-up work.

  • A completed job with a breaching reading can create a case after the reading is checked on the server. A repeated violation of the same rule for the same asset does not create another case while the first case is open.
  • Open the asset's Cases section to review existing cases. An automatically created case starts as Open and unassigned.
  • During a risk assessment, open the asset's Recommendations tab. Automatic drafts appear under Drafts (auto-generated). Open a draft to review its Problem, Solution, Priority, and Triggered by values.

An automatic recommendation is only a proposal until someone approves or dismisses it. Re-saving the same failing value does not create duplicate recommendations while an existing recommendation for the same rule and asset is still open in the assessment.

If the result does not match the current reading

  • Check whether the asset type was changed. Parameters that the new type does not have are cleared from the Parameters form and are no longer included in rule evaluation, although their history is kept.
  • Check whether the reading was corrected. A still-open, unapproved draft can be withdrawn when a later reading no longer matches its rule.
  • If a rule evaluation contained an error, withdrawal of an old draft is skipped for that cycle, so the draft may remain after the reading is corrected.
  • For a job completed offline, rule evaluation and any case creation happen only after the queued reading syncs to the server.
