This article explains how to track and verify that tasks are performed within BriqSafe. It is intended for engineers, managers, and any user responsible for completing or reviewing visits and jobs.
NoteRequired role: Engineer
Signing Off a Visit
Signing off a visit finalises the job data and submits it for back-office review.
-
After completing or skipping jobs at a Location, open the visit's job list.
-
Tap Close Visit to open the Close Visit screen.
-
Select the Sign Off tab to review the JOB SUMMARY: counts of completed, unable to complete (skipped), and not completed jobs.
-
Provide worker confirmation by either:
-
- Drawing a worker signature on the signature pad, or
- Ticking the confirmation checkbox labeled "I confirm that all jobs have been completed or skipped with valid reasons, and the information provided is accurate." (note: these two options are mutually exclusive; ticking clears an existing signature and drawing clears the checkbox)
-
Optionally, add observations for the visit in the COMMENT field below the job summary.
-
Tap Close Visit, then confirm by selecting Sign off.
Once signed off, the visit's status changes to Completed and syncs to the web app. Note that the submit button remains disabled until a signature is drawn or the confirmation checkbox is ticked.
Important: Signing off locks the visit on the worker's device, preventing further job edits there.
Note: If not all jobs are finished, pending jobs are automatically skipped during sign-off and recorded accordingly. If every job is skipped or cancelled with none completed, the visit status becomes Skipped instead of Completed.
Warning: When opening the Close Visit screen without selecting a specific visit on a Location with multiple active visits, the app defaults to closing the first active visit, which may be incorrect. Always open the intended visit first.
Tracking Job Status Within a Visit
Each job in a visit moves through defined statuses that indicate its completion state:
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Open | The job is yet to be performed. |
| Completed | The job was done successfully. |
| Skipped | The job was marked as unable to complete with a valid reason (recorded as skipped). |
Jobs beyond their due date are flagged as Overdue. When closing a visit, any jobs still untouched (Open) are automatically skipped and recorded for backend review.
Note there is no separate status for 'unable to complete'; marking a job as such records it as Skipped with the provided reason. This action cannot be undone after visit sign-off.
Reviewing Completed Visits and Jobs
Back-office users and managers can verify that tasks were performed correctly before reports are generated or compliance history is updated.
-
Navigate to the Location's Visits or Jobs tab on the web app.
-
Select the date and open the completed visit or job to inspect details:
-
- Recorded activity type
- Status (Completed or Skipped)
- Measured readings and values
- Worker notes and any attached photos
-
Use the review workspace accessible from the Actions worklist to drill down floor-by-floor into a visit, toggle between List and Floorplan views, and inspect individual job details.
The review workspace also shows job outcome counts per floor and worker completion notes.
Note: No 'Reviewed' status exists per job, and skipped jobs cannot be reverted to completed; to perform missed work schedule a new job.
Completing Visit Reviews and Generating Reports
Managers can finalise visit reviews and optionally generate job reports to summarise the performed work.
- In the review workspace, click the floating Complete Review and Report button.
- In the dialog, select a report preset from the list or choose Without Report to finish the review without generating a report.
- Select Complete and Send Report to queue the job report export and mark the review as complete.
A job report includes jobs with statuses Completed or Skipped. Skipped jobs appear as 'Not completed' with their skip reason and any attached evidence photos. Reports cover up to 500 jobs in a single export.
Warning: If the visit under review contains escalated jobs (skipped or cancelled without reschedule), the system warns you. Confirm that these jobs have been checked before sending the report; otherwise, choose to go back and address outstanding escalations.
Tracking Daily Job Progress
Users can monitor task progress for the current and next day.
- On the web app, go to My BriqSafe. The left column's progress indicator shows completed versus total jobs.
- Toggle between Today and Tomorrow to view scheduled work.
- On mobile, check the jobs progress ring at the top of the home screen, using the day selector for the same options.
If no jobs are scheduled for the selected day, the interface indicates No jobs scheduled for this day.
Working Offline and Syncing Changes
Field workers can continue performing jobs when disconnected from the network.
- Open the desired visit while online so job data caches locally.
- When offline, a status indicator appears and all jobs and forms remain usable.
- Bluetooth thermometer pairing and device-to-device connections continue working; timers run locally.
- Data entries—including readings, photos, and job status changes—are queued for upload.
- When connectivity returns, the app syncs the queued data automatically in the background.
Important: Opening a visit offline before caching may result in incomplete data. Allow time for queued uploads to finish before leaving the site.
The sync indicator on mobile allows review of pending changes and manual pushing of individual items. This screen is not available on the web.
Job Execution Verification on Site

Engineers complete tasks during visits using specific job forms. Each job's form is fixed by its activity type (such as temperature measurement, chemical test, or flushing timer).
Examples of executing jobs include:
- Temperature (Flushing) Jobs: Pair a Bluetooth thermometer or enter temperature readings manually. Start measurement, record data, attach evidence photos if required, then complete the job.
- Chemical Test Jobs: Enter parameter values as typed or selected from options. Attach evidence photos if needed, then complete the job.
- Flushing Timer Jobs: Start the countdown timer for the prescribed flush duration. Complete the job only after the timer ends.
Note: No pass or fail status is shown during job completion. Threshold breaches are evaluated after the visit and may result in case creation.
If a job cannot be completed, field workers mark it as Unable to Complete by providing a reason and optionally attaching notes and evidence photos. This records the job as skipped for back-office follow-up.
How Task Data Is Used for Compliance and Follow-Up
Completed and skipped jobs contribute to visit reports and may trigger escalations or cases if readings breach thresholds.
Cases are created automatically when rule violations occur on assets without open related cases. These cases start in the Open status and are linked to the triggering job for investigation and resolution.
Approved technical recommendations linked to jobs are automatically closed when all their suggested follow-up work has been completed.
