Use this article to record whether a room is Vacant or In Use, and to complete flushing jobs with the required timer. Occupancy is stored on the room and can affect flushing requirements.
Mark a room as vacant or in use during a visit
Update the room when you find that it is empty or has come back into use.
- Open Visits and select the visit card. You can also open the visit card from My BriqSafe.
- Find the job group for the room or floor. On the section header, tap Floorplan. Do not tap the section name, as this only folds the section.
- Tap the room on the floor plan.
- In the footer, tap Mark as Vacant. To reverse the status, tap Mark as In Use.
A successful update confirms Room marked as vacant. If the update fails, the app reports Failed to mark room as vacant and leaves the room unchanged.
Important details
- Occupancy belongs to the room, not to the asset or job, so the status remains after the visit.
- Occupancy has two values only: In Use and Vacant. There is no separate status for an infrequently used or under-renovation room.
- The footer action is available only to users who can update areas.
- Jobs assigned to a whole structure or system have no room association. They appear under All Jobs, which has no Floorplan button, so you cannot open the plan from that section.
Set a room's occupancy from the location
Use the location configuration when you need to update the room without opening a visit.
- Open the location's Structures tab.
- Switch to the Hierarchy view.
- Open the room row's actions menu and choose Edit.
- Set Occupancy to In Use or Vacant.
- Choose Save changes.
The Occupancy control appears on room rows, not floor rows. A new area normally takes its occupancy from its area type. Area types default to In Use, so set the value explicitly when a new room is vacant.
Complete a flushing timer job
Use the in-app timer when a flushing job requires the outlet to run for a prescribed duration.
- Open the flushing timer job.
- Check the Prescribed flush duration.
- Open the outlet and tap the flush-timer start button.
- Wait for the countdown to reach Flush complete.
- Close the outlet and tap Complete Job.
Complete Job stays disabled while the timer runs. The timer continues if you leave the job form to work on another job, and the server also rejects an early completion.
Work offline
The visit list, job list, job form, flushing timer and photo capture continue to work without a connection. Job status changes are saved on the device and sync when you reconnect. Photos are added to the upload queue and upload when the connection returns.
Embedded web pages do not work offline. Complete any work that requires an embedded web page before losing signal. Let the photo queue finish uploading before you leave.
