Mark a job as unable to complete

Use this procedure when a job cannot be completed because an outlet or Asset is inaccessible, equipment is broken, or the Asset is not at the location. Record a reason and, when useful, photo evidence so the back office can follow up.

Note

Required role: Engineer

Mark the job as unable to complete

  1. Open the visit.
  2. Tap the job's Asset or Room card.
  3. If the job is folded, expand it.
  4. Tap Can't complete. A job that opens on its own screen, such as a timed flush job, shows Unable to Complete instead.
  5. Enter at least three characters in Reason. This is free text; there is no fixed list of reasons.
  6. Optionally add an Evidence photo (optional).
  7. For an Asset-linked job, select The asset is not present at this location only when the Asset has really gone.
  8. Tap Submit.

The job is recorded as Skipped and shows Marked can't complete. The next open job on the card unfolds and the visit continues.

Understand the asset-not-present option

Selecting The asset is not present at this location can also affect the Asset and its linked Control Schema activities.

Note

For this option, an Inspector or above deletes the Asset and its linked Control Schema activities immediately. Completed jobs, recommendations and cases are kept. An Engineer marks the Asset for deletion pending approval; its activities are removed when the deletion is approved.

  • If the online deletion fails, the job is still skipped and the Asset remains unchanged. The warning is Job skipped, but failed to mark asset as missing.
  • When working offline, the deletion waits behind the skipped job and runs when the device syncs.
  • Using Reopen Job afterwards brings back only the job. An Asset reported as not present is not restored.

Work offline

You can mark the job while offline. The skip is saved on the device and shows a notice that it will sync when you reconnect. If you add a photo, it is placed in the upload queue and uploads when the connection returns.

Let the upload queue drain before leaving. If the change fails to upload, open the sync-status sheet and tap Retry on the failed item, or use Retry failed. Delete an item only after confirming, because deleting it permanently discards the change.
