Write an installation description

Use an installation description to record additional information about a building system. This article explains how to add the description when creating a system and how systems are organised in BriqSafe.

Add an installation description

Create the system under the structure it belongs to, then enter the description before saving.

1. Open Structures.
2. Open the structure's Systems section.
3. Select add a system.
4. Select the required System Type.
5. Enter the installation information in Description.
6. Optionally complete System Name, Operational Status, System Code and Location Details.
7. Select Save.

System naming and organisation

• System Type is the only required field.
• If you leave System Name blank, the system is named after its type.
• Each system belongs to one structure. There is no location-level Systems section.
• After saving, assets from any area of the location can be linked to the system.

Important notes

• Check the systems already listed under the structure before adding another one.
• A system with assets linked to it cannot be deleted. Plan the systems before linking assets.
• Deleting a system is a soft delete. Deleted systems can be shown with Show deleted systems and restored with Restore.
