Collect compliance data at area level

Inspectors can use this procedure to record an area's details, complete its compliance parameters, and confirm or override its assessment.

Collect area data

1. Open the risk assessment and, under Things to do, open the Areas tile.
2. Select an area.
3. In General, enter the required Area Name. Enter an optional Description.
4. For a room, set Occupancy to In Use or Vacant. This field is available only for rooms.
5. Review Facility Type and Control Regime. These values are inherited from the parent structure. Override either value when needed, or select the Clear override control to return it to the inherited value.
6. Complete the fields in Parameters.
7. Select Save changes. When every required parameter is filled, the button changes to Confirm assessment.

Review inherited values

An overridden value is marked with a warning that says Overrides inherited value. Changing Facility Type can automatically assign a different Control Regime when you save. To keep a different regime, select it in the same save. Clearing Facility Type also returns the regime to its inherited value.

Check the assessment status

1. After the area has been saved with its required data, review Status.
2. If you disagree with the automatic result, select Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory.
3. Select Confirm assessment or Save changes to save the manual status.

After saving a manual status, the area shows a banner stating The generated assessment has been manually overridden. To return to the automatic result, deselect the manual status and save. The status then shows Status will be automatically recalculated on save.

Resolve incomplete or unsaved data

• If a required parameter is missing, a dialog lists the missing information. The area remains To review until the required fields are filled.
• A missing required parameter does not prevent saving, but an incorrect parameter value does. An empty Area Name also prevents saving.
• Under an enforcing control regime, the manual status controls remain disabled until the area has been saved as complete. The message is Fill in all required fields to enable manual override. If the control regime does not enforce required parameters, the status override is not subject to that requirement.
• Read-only users do not see a save button.
