Use this guide to record structure-level compliance information during a risk assessment and review how the building contributes to the overall compliance posture.
NoteRequired role: Inspector
Before You Get Started
- Make sure the structure and its systems are included in the assessment scope. Open the assessment, select Scope for analysis, select the required Structures and Systems, and select Confirm.
- There is no separate structure-level compliance form in the assessment. Structure-related information is collected through the Systems stage and, when available, the structure's Building evaluation in the Location stage.
Open the structure's assessment
- Open Locations and select the location.
- Open the Structures tab.
- On the structure card, open Risk Assessment and select the assessment.
You can also open an assessment first and select View Structures in the assessment header.
Complete system-level parameters
Systems belong to a structure, so complete the structure's system records in the Systems stage.
- Under Things to do, open Systems.
- Select a system.
- In General, complete the required System Name. Review Operational Status and Description as needed.
- Review Linked Assets and Schematics.
- Open Parameters and enter the readings required for that system.
- In Assessment, select Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory only if you need to override the automatic result.
- Save the record. The Save button changes to Confirm assessment after every required field is complete.
NoteUnder an enforcing Control Regime, the assessment choice remains disabled until every required parameter has a saved, unexpired value. Complete and save the required parameters first.
Complete the structure's building evaluation
Some control regimes provide a per-building questionnaire in the Location stage. When the assessment includes at least one structure and this questionnaire is available, each structure has its own Building evaluation form.
- Open the Location stage.
- Select Building evaluation.
- Complete the form for each structure in scope.
- Save each structure's form separately.
- Check every structure before selecting Mark as done for the Location stage.
The available regime-specific sections and the Building evaluation form depend on the Control Regime of the structures in the assessment scope. Changing an area's facility type does not change these sections.
Understand the compliance result
- Marking a system Unsatisfactory does not by itself make the structure non-compliant.
- A structure's compliance rolls up from its areas and assets, as well as overdue jobs, open cases, and open Technical Recommendations, including recommendations on its systems.
- An automatic Satisfactory result means that no risk rule reported a violation. It does not mean that every parameter was checked and passed.
- If you manually selected a status, clear the selection and save to return the object to automatic evaluation.
Finish the assessment stage
- Return to the assessment overview.
- Complete the required records in Systems, Areas, and Assets, together with the required Location sections.
- Open each completed stage and select Mark as done.
The assessment percentage changes when a stage is marked done, not each time another system or structure record is completed. The Risk Conclusion remains unavailable until the required data-collection and review stages are marked done.
