Create a case from an asset or area

Use this procedure to report a non-conformity found on an asset so it can be tracked and remediated. You can start from the asset or from the asset's location.

Note

The Cases feature requires the Assisted Escalations plan. Users also need permission to create cases.

Before You Get Started

  • The Cases tab is available from a location, but it shows an upgrade notice when the organisation's plan does not include Assisted Escalations.
  • The asset and its location must already exist in BriqSafe.

Create a case from an asset

  1. Open the asset and expand its Cases section.
  2. Select Create case.
  3. In the side panel, enter a Title.
  4. Choose a Severity: Regular or Critical.
  5. Optionally add a Description, Parameters, follow-up work under Add activity, and files under Attachments.
  6. Select Create Case.

The asset is filled in automatically when you start from its Cases section. The new case starts with status Open and is unassigned.

Create a case from a location

  1. Go to Locations and open the location.
  2. Open Cases.
  3. Select New Case.
  4. In the side panel, select the required Asset.
  5. Enter the required Title.
  6. Choose a Severity: Regular or Critical.
  7. Optionally add a Description, Parameters, follow-up work under Add activity, and files under Attachments.
  8. Select Create Case.

Check the required fields and attachments

  • Asset and Title are required. The default severity is Regular.
  • New Case appears only to users who can create cases.
  • You can add up to five attachments while creating the case. They are attached after the case is created.
  • Accepted attachment formats are JPEG, PNG, WebP, and PDF. Each file must be no larger than 10 MB.
