Finalise a risk assessment

Finish a risk assessment after all sections are complete and the conclusion has been written. Finishing closes and locks the assessment so it is ready for reporting.

Note

Required role: Inspector

Before You Get Started

  • Make sure all other assessment sections are marked Done. The Risk Conclusion stage opens only after the other sections are complete.
  • Write and save the executive summary before finishing. The summary becomes read-only when the assessment is finished.
  • Generate or regenerate the report before finishing if you need a new report. The report generation form and Regenerate option are hidden after completion.

Finish the risk assessment

  1. Open the risk assessment.
  2. Open the Risk Conclusion section.
  3. In the footer, select Finish assessment.
  4. Read the warning in the Finish risk assessment? dialog: “This will mark the assessment as complete. This action cannot be undone.”
  5. Select Finish assessment to confirm.

The assessment is marked complete and drops out of the default active list. All sections are marked done, the conclusion scores are frozen, and later parameter changes cannot change them. The button changes to Finished; selecting it again has no effect. There is no option to reopen a finished assessment.

Reports after finishing

After the assessment is finished, the Risk Conclusion report section no longer shows its generation form or Regenerate. You can still download an existing report. To create a new report, open the organisation-wide Documents page and select Generate Report. The risk assessment picker still includes finished assessments.

Assessments linked to visits

You do not need to move the visit manually. Saving work moves a pending job and its scheduled visit to in progress. Finishing the assessment completes that job.

  • If no other job on the visit is open, the visit is closed automatically and recorded against you without a signature. It is flagged as missing a counter-signature and enters the back-office review queue.
  • If the visit still has open jobs, it is not closed this way.
  • Do not sign off the visit manually first. Sign-off skips every open job and records the assessment work as skipped.
